Wow!! AMAZING food and atmosphere. We stopped in on our way home from Chicago, and we will definitely be back when we pass through. We had the fried cauliflower for an appetizer. Yum! Dinner was great too!
Me and my wife tried this place for the first time, and i have to say Sonny D's is pretty awesome. Everything we tried was amazing. Blackened chicken sandwich, chicken club, sausage and pepper flat bread, fries, lemon chicken rice soup plus a side salad and a couple sodas the bill was 71. Not bad, considering we were both bloated and brought home leftovers. Lol We'll definitely be back Update. Today we sat at the bar. Holy crap the drinks are downtown chicago prices not New Buffalo prices. 53 for 4 short glass captain and cokes is insane. That's 13.25 each. All the food is awesome but I'll never have a drink here again at those prices. I could've bought 2 entire 5ths at that price

We were there in a drizzly Friday night and well taken care of by Pat. Very friendly and good conversation. Did a couple Italian plates for dinner. The Chicken Parmigiana and a shrimp pasta with a little kick. So good, nice sized portion! I can see this place hopping during the warmer months! Also a speak easy downstairs with music and cocktails!
Great option for lunch, even when the area seems crowded. They have a ton of seating inside, and a decent amount out on a sun room / patio area that all of the windows open to the sidewalk. We have eaten here twice recently, and have been seated immediately, on the patio. (Great for people watching and usually a breeze) We were reluctant to try this restaurant, because of the current rating on Google Maps, but I would say that they deserve more than 4 stars for sure. The staff and atmosphere are great (especially on the patio), and while the prices are a little high (where aren't they?) you get enough food that you will take some home, or be uncomfortable if you do finish it. Overall every thing tastes good, though some dishes could use some more aggressive seasoning. My daughter has had the Caesar twice in a row (no protein) and loves it. Fried pickles are great! Just get them. My son has had the pork tenderloin sandwich twice in a row now, and it's gigantic. You have to fold it. I had the potato cakes, which were good, but could definitely use more flavor/seasoning, and needs sour cream on the side (you'll have to ask). They also have some local beer on draft of course.

My first time here was with a party of 12 for Mother's Day Brunch & it was fantastic! They had a create your own bouquet for mom's who dined in, and a craft table for the kids to make mom a postcard or bookmark. The service was wonderful as well I can't wait to try out the dinner menu sometime!
Been here many times, will be here many more. The beet salad is phenomenal. The hardest part is choosing which item to get. Have tried many and they are all delish. Took pics a lil late bc we were starving but we also had the southwest salad and a burger.
